College in the Schools is a nationally
accredited program that is recognized in colleges
throughout the United States. Having this opportunity
for high school students to better prepare for their
college years and this type of realistic and
accrediting experience only enhances their college
education.
High school students are not the only benefactors. High school teachers are given
a higher level of teaching experience which is
reflected in their resumes and high school administrators
benefit from having a staff of teachers that carry
higher learning credentials as well.
By having college in
the schools you are raising the bar to what your
school and it's faculty expects and produces through
it's students. This is a win/win opportunity for
students and teachers.
The college courses are taught by your high school
teachers and you earn credits for college at the same
time that you are gaining your high school credits.
If you already know which college or university you
plan on attending, let them know what college in the
schools courses you are enrolled in so that you can be
assured that they will accept those credits. Some
colleges will treat your college course credits
differently so definitely make sure you know where you
plan on applying these credits and if that college
will accept them. Better planning makes for less
surprises. |
